A simple case with a big story. About 4,500lbs of excess leather are created in one leather tannery per day. This amount equals to approximately 9,000,000 gallons of water wasted into scrap bins. The scrap used goes through many steps before it becomes this beautiful sleeve. The pieces are carefully sourced as piles of cuttings from the exterior of hides that are tossed into a bin for waste. The bulk is gathered by Looptworks and then organized by color then by size. The oblong pieces are then pressed to iron out creases, and then cut into uniform rectangles and re-sewn into this useful and beautiful sleeve for your iPAD 1, 2 or 3.
