400 PPM Global Warming Awareness T-shirt
The safe level of C02 in Earth's atmosphere is 350 parts per million.
Last year this number passed 400 parts per million for the first time. This milestone is a sobering one, as carbon dioxide is a heat-trapping gas linked to climate change.
A month ago, we reached the 400 PPM milestone once again, possibly for good. To mark the occasion, we created the upcycled 400 PPM tee.
Global warming is a very real issue we'll be dealing with as a society in our lifetime, and the only way to get there is a world-wide shift to renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable farming practices and closed loop manufacturing.
Bees were added to the endangered species list for the first time this year. Pesticides and climate change are a large factor in habitat loss for the bumble bees. The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation has been researching the extinction risk for all North American bumble bees. Learn more about bumblebee threats at xerces.org
Our hope is that frequent use of 400 PPM tee helps raise awareness. While we as a company prefer to dwell on the positive changes we can make as individuals over the negatives, we feel that this is one conversation we can no longer avoid.
A portion of the sales of the 400 PPM tee will be donated to non-profit organizations dedicated to reducing carbon emissions as well as organizations dedicated to the conservation of bees.
