Transit Tote

Saves 3000 gallons of water
Saves 1.5 pounds of excess
Made in the USA

Our Seam Team elevated the trademark SouthWest color palette into a statement look when creating the Transit Tote. Rerouting premium upholstery leathers from the landfills to your next adventures or commute, this bag makes being on the move look like a walk in the park.

Handmade in Portland, Oregon by our Seam Team, in addition to keeping high-quality materials out of the landfill and in the loop, you're supporting a new way to conduct business ethically and compassionately.

  • We took reuse to the next level when we created the Transit Tote. Made from leather upcycled from retired Southwest Airlines seat covers, each item in our collection has its own visual personality acquired from the seat’s journey.

Each bag conserves roughly 3,000 gallons of water and there is a CO2 reduction of up to 82%. Additionally, we partnered with Relay Resources, a non-profit that employs adults with disabilities to dismantle and clean the seats. So not only do you have a bag with history, you can feel good about the purchase you've made too.

About Project LUV Seat

In order to conserve fuel, Southwest Airlines replaced their heavy leather airline seats with a lighter weight material, and they wanted to ensure that the journey didn’t end for 80,000 leather seat covers. We upcycled the seat leather into the In Flight Collection, conserving an estimated 2,000 gallons of water per pound of leather!
